1. What was the purpose of your advertisement? e.g. Was it to sell a product (state what product) or an event (state what event) or encourage people to change their behaviour (e.g. to stop smoking)?
- The purpose of my ad was to get people to think whether what Trump is doing by enforcing racial discrimination is wrong or right.
2. What was the main image (or dominant image) in your advertisement? Why did you choose this image?
- The main image for my ad is a brick wall with a crack in it. I choose this image because Trump said earlier in his campaign he would build a wall across the border, purely based out of racism.
3. What colours, or shades of colours, did you choose for your advertisement? Why did you choose these colours?- I went with the typical red brick for the background and white font because it is the easiest to see on the background, I also used the traditional red cross out sign. The colour red can insight danger or caution which is why its used for the cross out sign meaning no.
4. What verbal techniques (language features) did you use in your advertisement, and why?
I didn't use many verbal techniques in my advertisements because I couldn't think of what ones would work. I did use a metaphor for the last line by saying that Trump is building a wall in humanitarianism with his racism and discrimination.
5. Who is the target audience for your advertisement? How have you targeted this audience?
6. What is the message in your advertisement? (e.g. if you buy this perfume, you will be glamorous)
The message in my ad is that Trump shouldn't be president because he makes racism and discrimination okay when in reality it isn't because we are all human.
7. What skills have you learnt in this unit? How could you use these skills in other subjects or in your personal life?
In this unit I learnt about how language techniques can really impact the ad and persuade the reader/viewer. I also learnt that colours can play a big part in ads because of how they make the readers/viewers feel. I can continue to use the language techniques in English and in other classes where writing is required. The part about colours is useful for art since it affects the feelings around the art.
I like how you based it on trump building a wall.
ReplyDeleteAnother technique you could add is hammers braking it down.
